Telstra Portal’s Mortal

Telstra, Australia’s biggest telecom/Net player, will mutter the last rights over the long-cold corpse of its $100 million Telstra.com internet strategy next week, when it unveils a plan to reinforce its dominance in the market for broadband, services.

Among the moves planned: a range of sports-based broadband services. Telstra paid about $40 million for the online rights to the Australian Football League and National Rugby League and is now pinning its content hopes on the codes and the lucrative games market.
