SNL on Mobiles, On Cingular

By Rafat Ali - Tue 19 Dec 2006 01:55 PM PST

NBC has put its seminal comedy variety show Saturday Night Live on mobile, Cingular handsets, marking the first time SNL content has been made available though mobiles. Of course, nevermind that SNL completely sucks this season, possibly the worst season ever.
Cingular subscribers will get video clips from classic and current episodes, as well as original material. They can also purchase and download a collection of SNL-themed ringtones and graphics – both from current and classic seasons. Shorts from the current season will appear on Cingular Video the day after the Saturday night premiere.
Staci adds: Of course, Cingular Video is only available on 3G handsets on the high-speed 3G network—and only to subs with the $19.99 MediaNet Unlimited monthly package. And people wonder why uptake is slow.
