Podshow Debuts On Sirius Tonight

By Rafat Ali - Fri 13 May 2005 05:06 AM PST

Adam Curry’s Podshow debuts tonight on Sirius, a cavalcade of podcasts collected into one four-hour broadcast. The timing makes sense for Sirius—until now the 6-10 p.m. eastern slot was a replay of an earlier show—but prime time isn’t a great time for radio, which tends to be commuter oriented. True, some of it will air in drive time on the west coast; still, I can’t help wondering if some podcasts will get a bigger audience than the Podshow. Sirius subscribers should be able to get the show streamed online but no word whether it will be available for download.
Beyond that, one of the issues raised during BlogNashville last week and in other venues is whether podcasts can be broadcast without damaging the nascent genre and turning it into radio.
