Penguin Books, Remixed

By Staci D. Kramer - Wed 15 Jun 2005 02:07 PM PST

Podcasting and radio isn’t the only place for audio innovation, despite all the buzz and hype...Penguin Books in UK is doing a novel experiment with audio: it has put up samples of 30 audio books, as MP3 downloads, and is allowing anyone to remix and mash it up. On the site Penguin Remixed, the users can then upload it back to the site. The top ten tracks, as voted by users, will be available for download on the newly launched Audible UK site, Audible.co.uk, and iTunes UK site…

I met Jeremy Ettinghausen, the publisher of Penguin’s audio and eBooks division at the Audible UK launch party...looks like they’re pretty bullish on podcasting too.
