@OPA London: Steve Hayden, Ogilvy Worldwide

By Rafat Ali - Thu 02 Mar 2006 02:05 AM PST

Steve Hayden, Vice Chairman, Ogilvy Worldwide, is speaking at the OPA Global Forum, about the advertising business. “We are no longer driving, we can only go along for the ride”.

This is pretty progressive: “We need to rebalance our resources...we should get rid of 75 percent of people who have “marketing” in their title and make the rest of them listeners.

He says: there is a lot of scoffing about the small screen or video iPods, but people are watching, and paying. How come advertisers not spending as much money as consumers are spending time on it?
