More Digital Sales Numbers; Nielsen Paints Brighter Picture

Don’t think I remember a week when people cared this much about digital music numbers. After all the fuss about iTunes sparked by people jumping wrong side up on a report based on a too-small sample, in comes Nielsen SoundScan with its latest. Overall, says Nielsen, digital music sales are up 67 percent year-to-date. Slowdowns in the second and third quarters, attributed to seasonality, have been followed by growth this quarter.
