MarketWatch.com Drops The Dotcom

By Rafat Ali - Fri 06 Aug 2004 02:09 PM PST

(second item) Financial info provider MarketWatch.com has dropped the dotcom from its name: it quietly voted at a board meeting this week to switch its official name of Marketwatch Inc.

Larry Kramer, CEO of MarketWatch said that probably half of the company’s revenue now comes from ventures not connected to the Web. “We’re doing a lot more than the Internet these days.”

He said Marketwatch Radio, which is syndicated by Westwood One, is now bigger than Bloomberg Radio and Dow Jones Radio and the syndicated television show is in its seventh year.
