Macrovision Buys Digital Home Software Firm Mediabolic for $43.5 Million

Mediabolic, a developer of entertainment networking software, has been bought out Macrovision for roughly $43.5 million in cash.
Mediabolic, based in San Mateo, CA, is a privately held company whose customers include Intel, HP, Fujitsu and Creative. It was founded in 1999. MVSN says that the acquisition of Mediabolic extends its capabilities in the delivery and protection of digital content to consumer electronics devices, a strategic priority for the company.
