The continued downturn in Lycos’ fortunes: Lycos Asia has reduced its Singapore operations to a skeleton crew today, laying off around 40 staff members...its Asian operations will be directed from its office in Shanghai, China. The sites it operates across the region outside of China will continue to be updated with material from external content providers. In addition, its Khabal online gaming service will continue operations.

The company operates 11 local country sites across Southeast Asia, Greater China and India, which comprises localized versions of Lycos.com, Wired News and other content.
