By Rafat Ali - Fri 24 Nov 2006 07:20 PM PST

Liberty Media, the media holding firm controlled by John Malone, has bought a stake in Korean virtual pets service GoPets...Liberty didn’t disclose the size of its investment. GoPets is based in Seoul and boasts more than 450,000 registered users. The compan’s audience is mainly in Asia, though it has launched a beta in U.S. as well, and with Liberty investment, this will probably be expanded in Europe as well.
Other main investors in GoPets are Tencent Holdings (Chinese IM operator) and Nexon Corporation. Some more details in the release here.
