Layoffs At Wired News

By Rafat Ali - Tue 26 Jul 2005 10:08 PM PST

Wired News has had a bunch of editorial layoffs, reports News.com. The layoffs left the site with no employees bearing the title “staff writer.” In all, three reporters, an unknown number of production employees and two business-side people lost their jobs. The two remaining staff writers had their titles changed to editor.

Not suprising really, if you ask me. Daum buyout has not been the best move for Lycos USA (parent of Wired News), despite how they want to spin it. And really, on Wired News, the product is still relevant, but the people running the ship have no idea what they’re doing.

Wired News needs to be sold…
