LA Times Launches Its Dedicated RSS Newsreader

LA Times has been testing a dedicated RSS newsreader for a long time now...it started sometime early last year. Today, it has finally launched it...it is called Los Angeles Times NewsPoint. It comes pre-loaded with feeds from LATimes.com, as well as the video feed from LA-area WB affiliate and latimes.com partner, KTLA.
This flies slightly counter to the personalization/web-based RSS approach that two other big newspaper sites NYT and WSJ have taken recently. NYT/WSJ efforts are more personalization focused...LAT is more RSS focused and allows easy addition of third-part feeds as well.
LAT says Latimes.com has 5.2 million unique visitors monthly.
