iVillage Replaces Google With Yahoo, For Paid Search

By Rafat Ali - Wed 17 Aug 2005 12:09 PM PST

iVillage has tied up with Yahoo Search Marketing (fka Overture) to deploy sponsored search and other search solutions on the iVillage network. This replaces Google, which iVillage had been using for about two years now..the switch will happen Sept 1.

“While Google was a very good partner for us, Yahoo offered us more flexibility in providing what’s important to us (i.e. working together to further customize our users’ experience)”, the iVillage spokesperson told me.

This seems like the first big switch from Google to Yahoo, or at least that I’m aware of..

Update: CNN.com switched from Google to Yahoo last year. So did WashingtonPost.com (Thanks Stu!). Another major switch: Disney Online.
