Industry Moves: Gordon McLeod Leaves Time Inc. Interactive; Will be President, Dow Jones Online

By Staci D. Kramer - Wed 23 Aug 2006 06:10 AM PST

Updated: You’re reading it here first ... Gordon McLeod, GM-Time Inc. Interactive, is joining Dow Jones as president of Dow Jones Online, where he will be responsible for the business performance of the company’s news sites—Wall Street Journal Online, MarketWatch and Barron’s Online. The sites draw 8-plus million monthly uniques and have more than 800,000 paying subscribers, the bulk of them at WSJ.com. It includes the responsbilities held briefly by Nathan Richardson, who was SVP/GM of Dow Jones Online before leaving in March for the non-profit sector, but Gordon Crovitz, EVP-president, Consumer Media, told me the role will be broader. McLeod will report to Todd Larsen, COO, Consumer Media. The job starts Sept. 11.
Prior to the GM post, McLeod’s jobs during six years at Time Inc. included president of SI’s web sites and SI Picture Sales from 2003-late 2005, and VP/GM of Parenting.com and Parenting TV. His background includes SVP/EP, Grey Entertainment, Grey Advertising; co-founding his own production agency; and positions at Edelman Worldwide and the Sawyer/Miller Group.
