Industry Moves: Co-Founder Scott Johnson Leaves Feedster

Feedster is down to one co-founder in residence. Scott Johnson, co-founder and CTO, has left the company; François Schiettecatte remains as chief scientist. Scott Rafer took his leave as CEO in September at the same time the company, founded in 2003, announced an investment from Mitsui & Co., Ltd. Om Malik’s sources suggested it’s “the teething problems of a company grappling with hyper growth” but it also could be complicated by a case of start-up-itis—as in Johnson is already at work on a new one. It’s called Ookles—which, I’m sorry to say, sounds like a parody of a Web 2.0 name. It’s in stealth mode, includes tags and search but isn’t about either, according to Web 2.0 Central, and is unfunded (for now). That last bit explains why he’s also consulting.
