Gannett CEO Craig Dubow takes over as chairman with the Friday retirement of Douglas McCorkindale from the board and the company. Not surprising ... Dubrow, who came from the broadcasting side, succeeded McCorkindale as CEO last July. He’s 51 so it could be a long term.
Disney: No, it’s not new board member Steve Jobs. John E. Pepper, Jr., an independent director and the former chairman CEO of Procter & Gamble, will become non-executive chairman effective Jan. 1, 2007. He succeeds former U.S. Sen. George Mitchell, who has been non-exec chairman since 2004 and was asked to postpone his retirement past the 2006 shareholders meeting.
