Industry Moves At Startups: Time For Rationalization Of Expectations

By Rafat Ali - Sat 06 Jan 2007 07:58 PM PST

The executive movement at startups in digital media and Internet sector has intensified of late, for some obvious reasons. We mentioned Backfence management changes yesterday. Some more of them below:
-- Guba: The online video sharing service, which saw its CEO leave couple of weeks ago, has seen two more executives leave. Roman Arzhintar, Guba’s former general counsel and VP of strategy, and Bart Myers, the company’s SVP of product development, have left the company to start their own online video company.
-- Digital Music Group: The online music distribution firm, traded on Nasdaq, said that Anders Brown, COO, and Richard Rees, VP of Business Development, have resigned their respective positions to pursue other options.
-- Orb Networks: Co-founder and chairman Joe Costello has taken reins as CEO of the place-shifting technology provider. Costello replaces Jim Behrens. The company is seeking $30 million in a new round of venture funding.
-- JumpTV: Alex Blum, who is the COO of JumpTV, is leaving and joining as the CEO of an unnamed social networking startup in NYC. Kaleil Isaza Tuzman has been appointed as president and COO. of the company...preciously he was heading the company’s international division.
