FCC Chairman Says No New Tools Needed For Net Neutrality

With lawmakers dragging their feet and FCC Chairman Kevin Martin saying a new law isn’t needed, the odds of getting any net neutrality legislation through this election year pipeline are slim and slimmer. Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska, who chairs the Commerce Committee, says the committee is more conflicted over what to do—or not to do—on this issues than any other. At TelecomNEXT earlier this week, Martin said he thought the FCC already has the “authority to act.”

Networking Pipeline:  Martin also said that he supports tiered services as long as consumers “get what they are purchasing.”
