Digital Upfronts: The Hispanic Channels

Telemundo, Univision, Azteca America and Fox Sports En Espanol did their TV upfront presentations this week, and lots of talk about digital and multiplatform offerings.
-- NBC-owned Telemundo touted its recently formed partnership with Yahoo at the upfront. Telemundo’s online push is closely paired with “mun2,” Telemundo’s “alternative” network that is designed to reach young Latinos. B&C: the Telemundo channel, its youth-targeted cable network mun2 and Yahoo! Telemundo—is offering advertisers 24 different opportunities to put content on digital platforms, according to Steve Mandala, Senior VP, Sales and Marketing, Telemundo and NBC Universal Networks.
-- Fox Sports En Espanol: Fox Sports en Español is developing a number of broadband and non-linear initiatives. The network already has a partnership in place with mobile content developer Proteus, as well as a monthly video-on-demand deal with Comcast and a new broadband home at fse.tv.
