CBS To Launch Entertainment Site Showbuzz

By Rafat Ali - Sun 11 Jun 2006 05:07 PM PST

So is the word from USAT, even though the site is not yet online: CBS’s digital arm is launching a new website focused on entertainment news and pop culture, called The Showbuzz. Rationale: CBSNews.com‘s inventory is sold out, so it makes sense to launch another site focused on entertainment.
The 24-hour-a-day multimedia site will be constantly updated and include on-demand video, interactive features, archives, photos, maps and blogs...Showbuzz will not be a promotional device to plug CBS entertainment shows, as CBS’ own Innertube site does. Instead, it will be an independent entertainment news site, the company says.
Through partnerships, Showbuzz will also include content and services provided by industry brands such as The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, MovieTickets .com, Broadway.com and others.
More later as warranted....
