BlogHer After The Fact

By Staci D. Kramer - Mon 08 Aug 2005 12:09 PM PST

One of the reasons for my West Coast trip was an assignment by the Online Journalism Review to cover BlogHer, a first-of-its-kind gathering in Santa Clara focused on bring women bloggers together but dealing primarily with issues that cross gender. Men were encouraged to join in and made up about 20 percent of the attendees, roughly the reverse of some tech conferences I’ve attended. Blogging as a business was high on the agenda; one session highlighted funding, others looked at marketing, advertising, sponsors, etc. Ideas are already moving foward because of the gathering; planning for the next one is underway.
