Writers And Studios To Restart Negotiations By Tuesday

A day after DGA reached an agreement with the producers, the Writers Guild is ready to get back on the table with AMPTP: WGA leaders plan to meet as early as Tuesday with News Corp (NYSE: NWS). President Peter Chernin and possibly other top executives, reports LAT.

Even though many writers view the new DGA contract as far from perfect, they say it makes strides: directors did manage to double their online residual payments, something studios said they would never do, as late as a few weeks ago.
