Writers and Producers Will Start Informal Talks Tomorrow; Reality Representation Demands Pulled

By Rafat Ali - Tue 22 Jan 2008 05:51 PM PST

The Writers Guild of America and Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers will hold informal talks beginning Wednesday, reports B&C, and in a hopefully major concession, WGA will drop its demands for having jurisdiction over reality and animation writers. These informal talks are a pre-cursor to formal talks: they’ll figure out if it’s worth talking. What a mess…

The WGA also announced it will not picket the upcoming Grammy Awards on CBS...the music industry just heaved a sigh of relief.
