WebMD Buys eMedicine.com For $25.5 Million

WebMD, the online health information portal and services company, has bought out eMedicine.com, an online publisher of medical reference information for physicians and other healthcare professionals. The purchase price was $25.5 million.

eMedicine.com provides physicians and healthcare professionals detailed clinical information relevant to the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions. For 2005, eMedicine.com estimated revenues were approximately $6 million with a break even net income.
