Toronto-based mDialog, a video sharing and distribution startup, has raised a $3 million first round from angel investors, reports VentureBeat. In addition to offering user-generated content sharing, which is like an endless list of other companies, mDialog plans to distribute professional, third party content in a format designed for Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) services, including AppleTV. It’s licensed Apple’s MPEG4 H.264 video standard in order to do this. Another differentiating factor is its plan to position itself as a storefront for third parties to collect subscription revenue.
