Video Sharer EatLime Gets Funding From DFJ

By Joseph Weisenthal - Mon 02 Jun 2008 11:56 AM PST

You probably thought the world had enough video sharing sites, but you’d be wrong… EatLime, based in Sunnyvale, CA, has raised unspecified funds from DFJ, Amidzad Partners, and various angels, reports NewTeeVee. The company’s angle: faster uploads (it claims) and the ability to watch a video instantly, even as it’s uploading, as opposed to waiting for the whole thing to upload, and then waiting for the video to be ready (on YouTube there’s a delay). Also, the company appears to be specifically geared toward the user-gen, peer sharing side of things, a la IAC-owned Vimeo. The company was originally formed as YouSwap, a general file sharer, but changed to video when it noticed its usage patterns.
