Web-based TV Ad Buying Firm Spot Runner Acquires Production Network GlobeShooter

By Joseph Weisenthal - Tue 22 Jan 2008 11:46 AM PST

Heavily-backed Santa Monica startup Spot Runner, which offers a service for small businesses to easily create and buy TV ads, has acquired GlobeShooter, a network of more than 1200 independent video professionals. GlobeShooter will be renamed the Spot Runner Production Network and it should allow the company to offer greater ad customization. With access to the network, the company will be able to capture local footage that’s relevant to the advertiser’s business. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Release. (via NewTeeVee)

Rafat adds: There has been some speculation about who will SpotRunner get bought out by and when. NYP did a speculative story yesterday that the WPP and Interpublic-backed company may in fact get bought by WPP. The company’s heavily funded with the last round being a big $40 million one.
