Sports Social Net My Team Zone Gets $2.3 Million First Round

My Team Zone, a social networking service for amateur sports teams, has raised a $2.3 million first round from unidentified investors, according to VentureBeat. Basically, the company makes online software to make managing sports teams and leagues easier—scheduling games, team communications (including text messages) and calendars for tasks like which parent brings the orange slices and Capri Suns to practice.
