Social Net GamerDNA Raises $3 Million First Round; Changes Name From GuildCafe

By Joseph Weisenthal - Fri 18 Apr 2008 11:56 AM PST

GamerDNA, a kind of social net for gamers, has raised a $3 million first round Flybridge Capital Partners. The site, which was formerly known as GuildCafe, had previously raised $600,000 in seed money from Flybridge last year, for a total raise of $3.6 million (note: Flybridge was then known as IDG ventures… yes, lots of name changing going on here). Also last year, the site expanded its network via the acquisition of Uberguilds, a network of online game communities. Right now, the new GamerDNA site isn’t open, and users are still redirected to the old GuildCafe, which offers various community features, as well as organizing tools for in-game clans, such as those on World of Warcraft. GuildCafe will remain a site in operation, and it appears that the new GamerDNA will offer services beyond the world of MMORPG. Release.
