SEM Firm Search Agency Sells Stake To PE Firm JMI Equity

The Santa Monica, CA-based search marketing firm The Search Agency (TSA) has received a strategic investment from private equity firm JMI Equity. The amount was undisclosed. TSA provides search optimization to online advertisers through its tools, including its AdMax platform.

TSA was founded in 2002 and now has a total staff of 75 employees between two offices in Rhode Island and Santa Monica. JMI has previously invested in DoubleClick, among others. More details in release here.
