Self-Service Video Ad Provider Jivox Closes $2.7 Million Seed Round

By David Kaplan - Mon 10 Mar 2008 08:04 AM PST

DIY video ad platform Jivox has raised a $2.7 million seed round. It was led by Opus Capital, while Jivox founder Diaz Nesamoney put up an unspecified amount of capital as well. The round was also comprised of backing from a group of unidentified individual investors. The proceeds will be used to further build out Jivox’s platform, with plans to expand the company’s sales and marketing efforts too.

The San Mateo, CA.-based company, which was started last year, is aiming itself at small businesses. In an attempt to entice marketers to its AdSlate online video service, Jivox promises to give away an iPhone every month as a prize to what it judges to be the “best creative and effective” video ad.
