Seed Funding Roundup: PeerWisdom; SplashCast

-- Health and wellness information site PeerWisdom has received $2 million in angel funding, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported. The company was founded by two former Amazon (NSDQ: AMZN) employees. Keith Schorsch, who help manage Amazon’s expansion into electronics and other products, and Ruben Ortega, who was CTO of Amazon’s A9 search engine. Seattle-based PeerWisdom is intends to serve as an online network that unites people who have dealt with similar health problems.

-- Multimedia Flash site SplashCast has added World Series of Poker star Phil Hellmuth to its group of angel investors, NewTeeVee reported. Hellmuth decided to back the company after using the SplashCast player to broadcast his vlog posts and appearances at the poker tournament. The site, which launched in January, has 12,000 registered users and has so far raised $2 million in funding.
