Sandow Media Set To Buy Harvard-Oriented Mag 02138

By Joseph Weisenthal - Wed 09 Apr 2008 10:14 AM PST

02138, the Harvard-oriented magazine that’s made a name for its coverage of the Facebook/ConnectU lawsuit, is on the verge of being sold to Sandow Media, reports WWD. A spokesperson for Sandow confirmed that the deal was in late negotiations, but that it wasn’t yet complete. The uber-niche publication was launched by Atlantic Media, which owns both The Atlantic, and National Journal. It was started in 2006, by two Harvard alums, who wanted a high-end lifestyle magazine for their particular demographic. It claims a circulation of 100,000. Terms of the transaction have not been reported.

It seems to be making the most of the Zuckerberg stuff, as its site prominently features The Facebook Files, with all of the Zuckerberg-related stuff it has. Some of the documents, including his college admissions applications, have been the subject of controversy. In addition, the website offers digital only content, including blogs.

For its part, Boca Raton-based Sandow, recently acquired money magazine Worth, and said it had plans to up its digital presence.
