Sampa Raises $1 Million For Easy Family Websites

By Joseph Weisenthal - Thu 03 Apr 2008 11:46 AM PST

Sampa, a Seattle-based service for families to create websites, has raised a $1 million angel round from investor Geoff Entress and unidentified former execs of Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT), Netscape and Lightsurf, according to Seattle PI. The service lets non-technical users establish a place to share pictures and other content, while limiting who can see it. The site launched in 2005, but has recently done a redesign after determining that the service was too difficult for its target base, which it describes as “typical AOL (NYSE: TWX) users.”
