Roo Investor KIT Capital Takes Stake In Video Searcher Viewdle

By Joseph Weisenthal - Mon 24 Mar 2008 10:03 AM PST

NYC-based Viewdle, a start-up doing video search based on facial recognition, has taken an unspecified strategic investment from KIT Capital, the investment firm that has essentially taken over Roo Group. With the investment, Kaleil Isaza Tuzman, ROO CEO and KIT Capital managing director, will join the board of Viewdle, and the two companies will enter into a strategic partnership. The two companies will cross-sell each other’s services, while Roo will get a white-label license of Viewdle’s technology. Viewdle says Reuters (NSDQ: RTRSY) is a customer, using its technology to index its own video content. Release.
