Reed Business Sale Process: Informa Not Interested In The Ad-Driven Business

One of the other possible major parties that could have been interested in buying Reed Business Information, the UK-based B2B trade media firm Informa, has come out and said it is not interested in a bid. Informa reported its 2007 earnings today, and CEO Peter Rigby said that with advertising accounting for only 3 percent of Informa’s revenues, he wouldn’t want to buy a business that is 60 percent dependent on advertising, especially in the present uncertain environment. “It’s not a business we’re in and it would be an unusual change of strategy,” he said.
