Ottaway Papers Say News Corp Has Taken Chain Off The Market

News Corp is no longer trying to sell Ottaway Newspapers ... E&P reports that Marianne Stanton, editor and publisher of Ottaway’s Nantucket newspapers, told her staff Tuesday afternoon that “we’re not being sold” and expressed relief about moving from uncertainty to “the business of serving our readers and advertisers.” AP is also reporting that several papers published stories to that effect today. Last November, just before it was acquired by News Corp (NYSE: NWS). Dow Jones announced that it was considering a sale of the community newspaper group.
