Online Community ChessPark Completes $1 Million Angel Round

Online chess community ChessPark.com has completed a total of $1 million in angel funding. Jon Callaghan of True Ventures, Burnt Norton and Eaglebrook School participated in the round. ChessPark, based in West Palm Beach, Fl., plans to use the capital to finish its public beta test. The company, which claims over 100,000 members, expects to fully launch in Q3.
VCRatings: Brian Zisk, co-founder of Chesspark, previously co-founded Gotuit, a white-label video editing startup that has raised more than $20 million, and ClickFacts, an anti-click fraud startup. The company hopes to get users to pay $10 per month and get lessons, community, interaction with grand masters and other value added services. Release
