NBCU’s Zucker Assigns Top Execs Expanded Roles; Comstock Adds Ad Sales; More For Gaspin, Graboff

By Staci D. Kramer - Thu 15 Feb 2007 11:32 AM PST

Still waiting for all the details but when new NBCU CEO Jeff Zucker said some execs would have expanded duties, he meant it. Beth Comstock, who was president, digital media and market development, now will also be in charge of ad sales with new top ad exec Mike Pilot reporting to her. More to come.
Update: Comstock is one of three execs getting expanded duties and new titles, reflecting changes in the NBCU organizational structure.
-- Comstock is now president, NBC Universal Integrated Media, with “executive oversight” for television ad sales, headed by Pilot. She retains responsibility for digital, marketing and research. On the digital side, Deborah Fine, president, iVillage Properties and George Kliavkoff, chief digital officer, continue to report Comstock. But Comstock is not the only top exec with responsibility for digital.
-- Jeff Gaspin becomes president, NBC Universal Cable and Digital Content; he was president, Cable Entertainment, Digital Content and Cross-Network Strategy. (Thank you, Mr. Zucker, for shortening that title.) The new division combines cable content and distribution for the first time.  On the digital side, J.B. Perrette, president of digital distribution, will report to Gaspin as well as Kliavkoff. From the release: “Gaspin will continue to oversee the company’s entertainment programming on all of its digital outlets. Vivi Zigler, EVP, NBC Digital Entertainment and New Media, NBC Entertainment, will continue to report to him.
-- Marc Graboff, president, NBC Universal Television, West Coast, adds three new areas of responsibility, putting entertainment, the television studio and promotion under one exec. Kevin Reilly, president, NBC Entertainment; Angela Bromstad, president, NBC Universal Television Studio; and John Miller, president, NBC Agency and Chief Marketing Officer, NBC Universal Television now all report to him.
Release.
