MovingHealth Gets $1.5 Million Seed; Yahoo Pharma Exec Is Founder

MovingHealth, a Cambridge, MA-based provider of online consumer health information, has raised $1.5 million in seed funding led by General Catalyst Partners, according to an SEC filing, picked by PEHub. Also, MM&M reports that the company has been founded by Jack Barrette, formerly pharma category development officer for Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO). As to what the company will be doing, “We’re developing breakthrough user experiences in areas like rich media, video, user-generated content and social search,” Barrette said of his new company in the story.
