The Wall Street Journal’s Walt Mossberg and assistant Katherine Boehret have just released a detailed review based on two weeks of iPhone use in multiple scenarios across the U.S. The upshot: not too surprisingly given Mossberg’s earlier reviews of iPod and other recent Apple introductions, they like it—“on balance.” The full quote: “Our verdict is that, despite some flaws and feature omissions, the iPhone is, on balance, a beautiful and breakthrough handheld computer.” More details on our sister site mocoNews.net. You can also read up on the rate plans released today. Here’s Mossberg’s video review:
Update: David Pogue’s NYT review is out as well. Pogue’s take: “As it turns out, much of the hype and some of the criticisms are justified. The iPhone is revolutionary; it’s flawed. It’s substance; it’s style. It does things no phone has ever done before; it lacks features found even on the most basic phones.” More at mocoNews.net.
