Industry Moves: Media Dealmaker Stephen Ketchum Cut By Bank of America

By Joseph Weisenthal - Fri 02 Nov 2007 01:09 PM PST

Stephen Ketchum, global head of media investment banking at Bank of America, was caught in the company’s recently announced plan to cut 3,000 jobs. Ketchum, who joined BofA five years ago from UBS Warburg, has recently been involved with Echostar’s (NSDQ: DISH) satellite spinoff and the Dolan family’s unsuccessful bid to take Cablevision (NYSE: CVC) private, notes the AP. He will be replaced on an interim basis by Richard Swift, who also serves as head of telecommunications, and who had reported to Ketchum. Despite speculation that the firm would pare back or possibly quit entirely the investment banking business, CEO Ken Lewis this week reaffirmed the company’s commitment to this side of the business, in a speech reported by Dealbook.
