Mayor Bloomberg On NYTCo Reports: ‘I Am Not A Newspaper Person’

NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg couldn’t have been more blunt about the notion that he would buy The New York Times Company, according to Reuters: “I am not going to go into the newspaper business. I am not a newspaper person.” Bloomberg’s remarks were in response to questions at a press conference about city matters.

Michael Wolff raised the idea in a Vanity Fair column; Newsweek upped the ante via unidentified sources suggesting it was being consider and the NY Post followed today with more sources who say some Ochs-Sulzberger family members would be interested in a “white knight.”
