CraveOnline, which runs a male-focused entertainment portal, has bought GameRevolution, a gaming news and reviews site. The acquisition is designed to expand CraveOnline parent AtomicOnline‘s set of niche sites. Last fall, AtomicOnline bought pro wrestling news site WrestleZone and also aligned it with CraveOnline. This current purchase ends 12 years of independence for GameRevolution. In outlining the reasons for selling now, Duke Ferris, GameRevolution’s managing editor, said in a statement that the company viewed AtomicOnline’s offer as a way to increase its content and attract more advertisers.
