Macrovision Sells 10.5 Percent Stake In Digimarc

By Joseph Weisenthal - Wed 05 Mar 2008 01:42 PM PST

Macrovision (NSDQ: MVSN) continues to pare back on non-core holdings… the DRM-maker and would-be Gemstar acquirer says in a filing that it has sold all 2.01 million of its shares in Digimarc (NSDQ: DMRC) to an unspecified third party. Based on Digimarc’s most recent share count, this represents about 10.5 percent of the company. And it would be worth about $17 million based on today’s Digimarc share price, although we don’t actually know what they got in the transaction. The disposal follows the recent sale of its software division for $200 million, as well as its games business to RealNetworks (NSDQ: RNWK) for $4 million. (via Reuters)
