Lead Gen Targeter Adchemy Raises $19 Million Third Round

Online lead generator Adchemy has secured a $19 million third round funding. Mayfield Fund led the round, with Hellman & Friedman and existing investor August Capita participating as well. The Redwood City, CA.-based company has now raised a total of $27 million in funding. Its first round closed at end of 2004 with private investors, while Adchemy’s second round was secured at end of 2005. No word on what this round will be used for, though Adchemy is preparing to release a new product to accompany its existing targeting tool Adchemy Actions later this spring. Release

    No one thought anyone would unseat Yahoo or Microsoft on search but it happened.  As organizations like Google grow, I think it is fair to expect guys like Adchemy (I agree, horrible name) to be able to make inroads simply because they are more nimble and dedicated to one goal as opposed to many.

    Time will tell…
