Kid-Friendly Net Firm Kidzui Launches With $8 Million

San Diego-based Kidzui, a service offering a filtered internet experience for kids, has launched with $8 million in funding. News.com says the company has raised two pre-launch rounds of $3 million and $5 million from its backers Emergence Capital Partners, First Round Capital and more recently Maveron. The company has developed its own browser to access 500,000 kid-friendly, white-listed sites and other content. It plans to make money through an annual subscription model. Release.
