Jupitermedia Acquires Flying Hands Music; Expands Royalty-Free Library

By Joseph Weisenthal - Fri 14 Dec 2007 08:18 AM PST

Jupitermedia (NSDQ: JUPM) has acquired Flying Hands Music, an online library of royalty-free music tracks. CEO Alan Meckler announced the deal on his blog, saying it was part of the company’s strategy to expand, what it believes, is the world’s largest collection of royalty-free music. As Meckler explained to us, the acquisition is primarily for the several hundred tracks in the library. The site itself will become part of its existing site RoyaltyFreeMusic.com. Flying Hands Music had been run by a music composer, who is not joining the company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it was obviously small, since Meckler said it wouldn’t be of interest to Wall Street, which is why the deal hadn’t been announced in a press release.
