iVillage’s TV Show on NBC Shuts Down, Again

By Rafat Ali - Mon 18 Feb 2008 05:51 PM PST

iVillage’s feeble attempts at cross-synergies into TV via NBCU have been nipped again: The retooled iVillage Live, which was canceled last year due to low ratings, and relaunched and now called “In the Loop With iVillage”, is being shut down, again, by the NBC Local Media Division. The reason: the same, low ratings.

The staff of the Chicago-based daytime show was told Friday, on the eve of the long Presidents Day holiday weekend, that “In the Loop” will continue in production through March 28, reports TVWeek. The show airs on 10 NBC O&O stations.

The show cancellation follows some layoffs at the main website announced earlier this month. The site/network surely needs some re-invigoration...and surely TV extensions is not it.

What a great show this is, I’m one of their top interactive chatters.  It would be nice to see if the could move the show into a different time slot or move the show to cable.  Don’t close down production, so many jobs, now everyone will have to relocate.
