Interactive Marketer Geary Acquires SEO Firm Fathom

By Joseph Weisenthal - Mon 31 Mar 2008 10:38 AM PST

San Diego-based digital marketing agency Geary has acquired Fathom Online, a search engine marketing firm. Basically, the deal builds out Geary’s SEO practice, and the company hopes to offer customers a more complete online advertising solution with the inclusion of these services. The companies also argue that search engine marketing works best as part of a broader digital marketing campaign. Fathom, whose clients include Covad, PlanetOut (NSDQ: LGBT) and American Apparel, has raised $6 million from constellation ventures. Deal terms were not disclosed. Release (.pdf) (via Clickz)

Fathom never really lived up to their early hype and nearly failed at one point. I suspect the terms aren’t being released because this is a very small deal. My guess is sub-$20M --- but this is just a guess.
